I am a real Frisian; down-to-earth, optimistic and strong. I like clarity and use clear language. I also do what I say, and say what I do. I am a good listener, and can pinpoint the problem quickly, while always paying attention to my client’s emotions, worries and needs. I also help my clients to put things into perspective. This can be very beneficial, especially in emotional cases.
As a specialist in the law of persons and family law, I can contribute to finding a solution in a variety of ways. As a mediator and collaborative divorce specialist, I help partners who wish to arrange their divorce together. As a lawyer, my aim is to work with the other lawyer to reach an agreement. If that does not succeed, I will act as my client's lawyer throughout the legal court proceedings and at the hearing.
I have extensive experience of international divorces and complex divorces involving entrepreneurs, and in the settling of prenuptial agreements.
As a guardian ad litem, I look out for the interests of the children. I also stand up for children’s interests in my role as lawyer and divorce mediator. As the child of divorced parents, I know how important it is for parents to put their children’s interests first during a divorce and for them to work on their relationship as parents.
Body and mind influence each other. I like to keep moving, both literally and figuratively and I exercise a lot in my free time; CrossFit, boxing, and boot camp in particular give me energy and strength. A strong mind in a strong body is my motivation.
